Merry Actual Christmas

My favorite part of gift giving is the stockings. The kids are not allowed to even go into the living room on Christmas morning before we are all up and ready to go.



Santa was good to the children, as well as the parents, they got lots of good things. This year they all got Wands. C and O got resin wands (replica's of Dumbledor's) and K got a wooden hand crafted wand, it's actually pretty cool. C also got cowboy boots from my Grandma and John. The boy was in heaven a wand, boots, and Batman pj's!

This is our 2nd year in Illinois and we are continuing to enjoy it here. It's been strange but fun to create our own traditions as the Clark family (formerly the Clarainsendorf family). We had milk shakes for breakfast, except for Chris, milk allergy and chocolate hating as he is. No turkey or ham for dinner here the menu was Pizza and a movie. We are headed out to see the new National Treasure movie in a few minutes. We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas, we miss you all terribly. MERRY CHRISTMAS from the CLARKS!

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... For the last 2 1/2 years Chris has struggled going to church.  The first year was due to the fact that he was in the hospital and fighting for his life and was unable to physically attend.  Frankly the whole family struggled that year and we stayed home for months because it was too painful to go.  The last year and a half Chris has struggled due to anxiety and panic about church.  He still has a testimony and loves the Gospel, he helps get the kids ready for church and attends when he can but for the most part I'm a single mom when it comes to church attendance.  He cann...

Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...
