Birthday Week Synopsis

Well today I think we are finally finished with the week long Birthday festivities. On Monday Penny was still here and we had a birthday party for K and Chris. There were 4 different desserts and gifts. K wanted the Harry Potter series of books. They are quite expensive so I started my bargain hunting. I got on eBay and found used books for a song. I bid on them and won. When they got to the house they were in perfect condition. They had never even been opened. I couldn't wait until her real birthday (I would have totally blown that secret). So that day I did a scavenger hunt and she had to find the books hidden all around the house. Then on Wednesday, which was K's actual birthday, I took cupcakes to her class at school. Today there was no school so we decided to have her birthday party today. She invited friends from school and church. All of them were girls except for one. He was pretty skeptical at first but once they got to playing it didn't really matter.

There was a lot of jumping on the trampoline! Thank goodness for that.

C and O were not allowed on the trampoline while the big kids were on so C took to "shooting" at them from on top of the deck!

The theme of the party was a Backwards Party. I sent out thank you cards for invitations, with the printing in reverse. Everyone wore their clothes backward and we decorated in every holiday, almost, except for birthday. We even put the gifts under a Christmas tree!

K got lots of great goodies. O was only slightly jealous.



We had cupcakes, homemade pizza, and played games.
I was glad my friend Kim came to help and Chris stayed home to be there too. It was a lot of work, more than I had anticipated. I'm glad we limited the guest list. Everyone she invited showed up, I was really excited for her. O has already started planning her party.

Looks like they had a lot of fun together. Backwards party...that's hilarious! I'm not clever enough to think up cute things to do... I copy much better! :)

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... Today is Chris Birthday! I'm awful about making plans and doing things for him so this year I have tried my best to be better. We are having a small party if you will , with some friends tonight and having his favorite apple cake with caramel topping. Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...
