Stranded at the Drive In

OK not really stranded but definitely at the drive in. We found a drive in theater about 30 minutes from our house this weekend. We also found a campsite near the theater. So Friday afternoon we headed up there and set up camp. Our friends came too and we had a good time. The kids were pretty excited about watching a movie in the car. The theater had a carousel for the kids that was free, and we could bring in our own food, so be took a small BBQ and grilled hot dogs.


It was pretty cold that night so most of the time when we were waiting for it to get dark we were in the car. Here's Chris and Bryan hanging out stayin' warm! We saw the new Indiana Jones movie which left a lot to be desired but at least we had the drive in experience. It was fogging up in our car so we had to keep the windows cracked and I froze my rear off. I had on my heavy jacket and my hood and still shivered the whole time. When we go again we are going to make sure it's warmer.

We had a good time also. Drive ins are the best. But we have never been to one where they had a carasel - how fun.

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... For the last 2 1/2 years Chris has struggled going to church.  The first year was due to the fact that he was in the hospital and fighting for his life and was unable to physically attend.  Frankly the whole family struggled that year and we stayed home for months because it was too painful to go.  The last year and a half Chris has struggled due to anxiety and panic about church.  He still has a testimony and loves the Gospel, he helps get the kids ready for church and attends when he can but for the most part I'm a single mom when it comes to church attendance.  He cann...

Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...
