Neighborhood Party

Yesterday we were invited to a neighborhood party. Our entire subdivision was invited to attend. It was bring your own meat and a dish to share and hang out with the neighbors. We've lived here almost 2 years and barely know anyone so we thought it would be a great way to get to know some people. I didn't take my camera because I was imagining drunk neighbors and BBQ, but they had so many great things for the kids to do. There was a dunk tank and C even wanted to get dunked. He was nervous but the official dunk tank operator held his hand, and once he went once there was no stopping him. K and O also were dunked, with it being 87 degrees and 80% humidity it helped keep them cool. Heck I even debated going down! The fire department came by with their big truck and ladder and let the kids get in the front and "drive" they blew the sirens and horn and C thought he had died and gone to heaven. There were tons of games and prizes for the kids, the food was great and they even had a live band playing. Sorry about the picture quality Chris thankfully had his phone and we got a few pics.

We had a block party a few years back. It was a total drunk fest! Neighbors were shocked when Damian refused a beer. They probably thought he was a recovering alkie before finding out he was LDS. We hung back with the few member families on our street and called it an early night. Glad to hear you had good old fashioned wholesome fun!
