Primary Program

Yesterday was our Primary Program at Church. I love seeing the children up there singing and sharing their testimonies. I have 3 extremes when it comes to participating in the program. K hates it. She's at that age where she would rather be in Young Women's and is counting the months practically until she can go (that would be 30). She memorizes her part and says it as fast as she can just to be done. She sings what she is supposed to and loves that she's tall so they put her in the back. O LOVES it. She is all smiles the whole time and can't wait for everyone to look at her. She is excited about her part and wants to have everything perfect down to her clothes and hair that day. She sings her best and loudest and grins like crazy. This was C's first year up there and he was excited at first. About 10 minutes into the program I noticed a change in him. He hadn't been singing just looking around and playing with the chair in front of him. His cheeks started getting really red and he wasn't smiling anymore. All of the sudden it was melt down time. You could see the big alligator tears start on his cheeks and after a couple of minutes he was sobbing uncontrollably. One of the teachers had to pass him over the pews back to me about 3 rows back and he was crying so hard we had to go and sit in the foyer for a while. I asked him later why he cried and he said, "I was thirsty".

So our family pretty much has it covered when it comes to the Primary Program. Good times!

Funny- ours is this Sunday. I am using both bribery and threats. I'm not hopeful. Will is the same age as your boy- he has a hard time. Kacy is 5, and she has been bribed with art supplies if she says her part. We'll see. It's such good practice for the kids to get up to that microphone for just a minute.

Ours is in 2 1/2 weeks and I am excited. This will be Bubba's 3rd and he never sings. But its Tubbs' first and I think he will sing. We'll see! I will bribe them with candy!
