What a Busy Week!!!!
This week has been filled with busy-ness! Yesterday was parent teacher conferences at school. They actually let the children have then entire day off here. What happened to come in for a few minutes after school, or 1/2 days? Anyway it was a good day. The girls had great conferences. This year K's teacher actually conferenced with her instead of me. Last year her teacher would not let her in the room and was very cold and seemed put out that we were there in the first place. Mr. C is great, he let her take all her work home that she did not do so well on and will give her credit for fixing it. O's teacher had nothing but great things to say about her. She said O is always polite, helpful, friendly, and apparently a little OCD. She takes her time on her work, in fact she takes so much time that her paper is filled with erased numbers and letters that she keeps writing over and over until they are perfect! Mrs. Y said that she knows O can write so many more numbers but she takes so long that the time is up before she is finished. Pretty funny!
Also this week are many, many Halloween festivities. Today C gets to wear his costume to school and go trick-or-treating (I will use TOT for the rest of this post to save my hands from carpel tunnel) around the classrooms. He will come home with a boatload of stuff. Last year O was in this pre-school and oh-my-goodness it was insane. Then tomorrow C and I have playgroup which will be a Halloween party, complete with treats and costumes. Then we are off to have lunch at dad's work and, you guessed it, to TOT the cubicles! After the girls get home we are off to our friends the Keech's to do some more TOTing in their neighborhood. K is actually going to go with her friends to TOT. I'm a little sad that she does not want to go with me. It will be strange to not have her there, but the other 2 get tired faster so it may work to my advantage!
It is funny to me that there are so many ways to TOT. First you have the traditional door-to-door, then there's the classroom approach, the classic LDS Trunk-or-treat, and now this new fangled cubicle TOT. What's next virtual TOT just check your inbox for some Halloween treats!
If I don't blog for a while it will probably be because we are in a diabetic coma here. Hopefully our teeth will survive, I think our hygienist would drop dead if she saw our house after Halloween!!

25. Held a lamb (they are not really that snuggly)
26. Gone skinny dipping (again Bryan K get your mind out of the gutter)
27. Run a Marathon (I avoid running as much as possible)

My kids have never gone to a school that let you wear costumes. They don't even really acknowledge Halloween (or any other holiday, for that matter) during the school day here.
When I was a kid, we didn't have time off school at all. P-T conferences were from about 4-8 PM each night for a week, so parents could come after work. Honestly, that makes a lot more sense to me. Here, the kids have 1/2 days, and you're assigned appointments to come at like 2 PM, which sometimes is problematic for us. At least they don't care about us bringing the kids along!
