My Kiddos Never Cease to Amaze Me!

My kids are amazing. I know I'm probably a little biased. I was always a really shy, blend into the walls, only talk when spoken to kinda kid. I NEVER tried out for anything in my life and I NEVER ran for any kind of school office etc. K however seems to be the opposite of me. She seems shy and quiet but really she has more guts than I ever will. Every winter at school they have a concert to show off their music skills they have learned in music class. This year K auditioned for a solo part. We don't know if she made it yet or not but the fact that she actually got up in front of people and auditioned for a SOLO part blows my mind! I was shocked last year at the Ward talent show when she got up with her friend and sang but this takes the cake. I can't wait until we find out. On the down side I have to work that night and won't be able to be there either way so that kinda stinks.

The other thing she has done that is so cool is she was elected 4H President in her group. There are lots of older kids and she is only a 2nd year and she was elected President! Very cool. She gets to conduct meetings (getting her ready for the RS or YW President calling) and lead the group.

I am always amazed when my kids step out of their comfort zones. I guess I shouldn't be surprised because they are being raised by the adult, more confident me, not the insecure, adolescent me. Oh, and there's also the fact that they do have a little of their dad in them too!

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... For the last 2 1/2 years Chris has struggled going to church.  The first year was due to the fact that he was in the hospital and fighting for his life and was unable to physically attend.  Frankly the whole family struggled that year and we stayed home for months because it was too painful to go.  The last year and a half Chris has struggled due to anxiety and panic about church.  He still has a testimony and loves the Gospel, he helps get the kids ready for church and attends when he can but for the most part I'm a single mom when it comes to church attendance.  He cann...

Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...
