Slacker Mom

Well I'm not really a slacker, that would imply that I have spent the last 6 days lying in bed eating all my children's Halloween candy and watching "You've Got Mail" over and over. (That is my favorite movie) I have been too busy to blog, I know AGAIN you ask? What is this world coming to, Obama for President AND Syndy can't blog?

Well Halloween came and went and we all had a wonderful day. I took my traditional pictures on our front stairs and the kids looked great. The costumes this year did not cost us a dime and that is the best part of all (right Andrea!) The weather was perfect, about 70 degrees and nice and sunny, no wind. We went and trick-or-treated the Keech neighborhood and most of the people were out on their front steps so we didn't even have to knock on many doors.

Saturday K and Chris were invited to a football game with our friend Bryan. He won tickets in a radio contest and they came complete with a tailgate all you can eat lunch catered by Famous Dave's. If you have not had Famous Dave's you are missing out. They have the yummiest BBQ ever. I don't think any of them are huge football fans but they definitely are big food fans!

Sounds like a great game. I mean any game that starts with a lunch of FD's has to be good. We haven't been there in over a year and I miss it!!!

Your kids look so cute and is it just me or was C bursting with pride. Don't you just love holidays were your kids have a good time but it doesn't cost you everything in the bank

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...

Our 68 Whiskey

All the fretting and studying and worrying and starving paid off!  K scored an excellent score on her ASVAB, better than most people!  She was able to pic the MOS (job) that she wanted and is happily enlisted in the US Army as a 68W (combat medic).  She has a ship out date of June 21 2017 but when she gets her diploma in her hot little hand in December she will renegotiate her contract and try and leave earlier.  This is a huge sigh of relief for her and a bit of a sigh of anxiety for her momma!  That's ok she is following her dream and doing what she will love.  I have faith that she will succeed!  Love that girl of mine.
