Is My Sewing Showing?

It's so funny to me what kids pick up. You can usually tell what their parents are "in to" by the things they know and do. For instance, we have some friends that are into sports and their little boy is the first one to tell you which team is the best. I also have some friends that are really into movies and their kids know all the theme songs, and sound tracks. My kids are no different. I am really into sewing and it definitely shows. I hear them say things like, "My mom could make that", or "why doesn't your mom just sew you one?". I also know they are versed in sewing terms fabric is fabric, not cloth or material. They know the name of mommy's sewing machine, and they NEVER use my fabric scissors for art projects... that would be death! So this little exchange between their Granny and C was no surprise:

C: Granny there are two velcro's in that field over there.

Granny: Velcro's in the field?

C: Yes, Granny 2 velcro's don't you see them?

Granny: (looking in the field) C, do you mean Scarecrows?

C: Yes, Granny, that's what I said velcro's.

I definitely think my sewing was showing.

Hey there, I just stumbled upon your blog through Micah D's facebook page...

Thought I'd check it out. And didn't realize that you were Mormon also... So am I! Just wondering how you know Micah... We grew up in the same ward, and were practically neighbors.

Sounds like you have some cute funny kids!! I've got a blog set up especially for those funny things, and then I have two others... my main family blog, and then one that is more focused on the "ME" things, my feelings, thoughts, frustrations, excitements and so forth... I'll be a following yours now. Because you sound quite interesting.

Wendy, I bet I've seen you at least before. I met Micah at my first Stake Dance in Ridgecrest. We've been friends ever since. I grew up in the Kern River Valley, and now live in Illinois.

So glad you are following me, I'll check out your stuff too. I love blog lurking! As for interesting... it's ALWAYS interesting around here!

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... 34 Reasons Why I Love You

Today is Chris Birthday! I'm awful about making plans and doing things for him so this year I have tried my best to be better. We are having a small party if you will , with some friends tonight and having his favorite apple cake with caramel topping. Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...
