4th of July 2009




Well this 4th was kind of a bust. We were planning on having a party, and breaking in our new fire pit. The weather had a different idea about what our plans should be. It rained ALL day long and we had about 3 inches of water in our fire pit. SOOOO we didn't have our party after all. I was not prepared to have that many people in my house (I lounged all day and didn't do much cleaning). So we just had our friends the Keech's over (she's the kind of friend that I don't mind if she sees my mess, sorry Kim) for dessert and ended up going over to our neighbors for a little bit. Their pit was not soaked like ours, and their house was apparently cleaner too! We did get to have some sparklers, thanks to the Keech's and we saw some big fireworks in several locations around our neighborhood, thanks to the neighbors with illegal fireworks. I guess what really matters is the kids had a good time.

I wouldn't mind your mess either.....just so you know! :-) And you didn't come fully inside....it WAS a mess! Ohh and that darn Andy and the ILLEGAL fireworks! Naughty boy...tisk, tisk and HOUSTON I HAVE A HOLE!! I hope next year that we can try out your BIG pit!!!

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... Today is Chris Birthday! I'm awful about making plans and doing things for him so this year I have tried my best to be better. We are having a small party if you will , with some friends tonight and having his favorite apple cake with caramel topping. Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...
