A Whole Lot of Nothin'

Nothing too exciting has been going on at our house. The summer has been pretty mild so far (knock on wood) so going to the pool has been limited. We've been doing a lot of cleaning and organizing in the house and outside. Can you say nesting? My nesting mission is two fold, get things ready so when the baby comes I'm not a complete maniac in a messy house, and also getting ready for my parents to come next week. The parents coming is taking precedence over the baby at this point. We are quickly realizing that with each child we add it's getting harder and harder to move the children out of their rooms to make way for guests. I think the next visit will be when we finally move the "guests" into the basement. For now we are moving C in with the girls and pulling out the trundle for my parents.

We have been using our BBQ a lot the last couple of weeks. Last night we BBQ's chicken quarters YUMMO, and tonight we are BBQing pizza, our favorite.

K has to be reminded on a daily basis to eat with a fork and things like casserole, and salad, are not finger foods. She really just wants to eat with her fingers ALL the time. It's very disgusting mostly. Last night she got the go-ahead to eat with her fingers, it's BBQ after all. So she took advantage of the opportunity and my opinion went a little over board with her chicken. About 5 minutes into it I couldn't watch anymore it was making me gag. She was, of course, in heaven and loved every minute of it.


Oh and I have to mention I HEART THE CURB!!!
I found this cute cupboard on the curb across from my house. It is in perfect shape and has no scratches or dents. The things that look like drawers are actually a cupboard with shelves inside. I put all the kids art supplies inside and they are now neatly tucked away.

I heart your cupboard! It is so cute! Why on earth would somebody just put that on the curb?? But whatever! Glad you were able to snatch it up. I've been seeing some pretty good dressers at M Mart lately too, by the way. I'm still looking for 2 or 3 shelf bookcases. If you see any on the curb, call me!!!!!

Ok so I heart your cupboard too! You have been totally scorin' I think I just may need to get more out of the house lately! I have been in trying to get ready! I can't believe someone was just putting that on the curb. I guess if it was me, I would be trying to craigslist it or something even for a few bucks at least with that. I guess some people just don't have the time or whatever! Well , you go girl! I think I am officially now looking for some dressers to match Jessica's and Faith's (new to us) bunkbeds!

Okay . . . put my order in for a piano!!! You are so lucky!!! I stopped looking when we let go of the van. I guess I need to put my peepers back out there again.

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Today is Chris Birthday! I'm awful about making plans and doing things for him so this year I have tried my best to be better. We are having a small party if you will , with some friends tonight and having his favorite apple cake with caramel topping. Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...
