Halloween is OVER!

Don't get me wrong I love holidays, I also love when holidays are over. It seems the prepping for things sometimes get way out of hand, and the actual day is was faster than the time you took getting things ready. Kinda like spending weeks making, buying, planning, obsessing over, and wrapping Christmas gifts for about 5 minutes of ripping, flinging, and squealing. Sometimes it just doesn't seem fair.

Halloween was a success this year. We had a dead bride, a zombie, the Hulk, and Superman... dead things and Super Hero's I see a theme. At least that's what they started out as. It seems like the more Halloween activities we are involved in the number of costumes rises also. We also had a zombie/vampire, 2 cow girls, a member of the swat team, a police officer, a tired mother, and a kid dressed in an orange T-shirt.

Somehow we managed to keep the candy to a manageable amount. We have about 1/3 of what we had last year and that will be great for my figure. It was kind of cold this time around and about 1/3 of the way down our street C started laying in driveways saying he worn out. By the time we got home, went to the neighbors house for hot cocoa, and got ready for bed he was exhausted and whining.

Funny story... We went to K's friend's house for candy. They really get into the spirit, decorating their house, scary music and lights, even a fog machine! Well this year they had someone sitting on their porch wearing a scary clown mask and full costume, he was speaking into a microphone attached to a machine thingy (I'm sure that is the technical term for this device) that made his voice loud and sound creepy. C would not even go up to the porch, and when K went up the scary clown says, "don't be scared K"!! Freak out, he knew her name! It wasn't her friends dad cuz he was standing right there, and it wasn't her mom cuz she doesn't sound like a man. It really freaked K out. Later we ran into her friend and found out that K's teacher lives across the street from them and it was him! Too funny.

So the kids are in bed, the candy is hidden (from ME) and K was too scared to sleep alone so O took pity on her and they are camping out in her bed. Time for me to get some shut eye!

The thing that drives me most about the holidays is all the decorations you put out, then have to repack. I didn't do Halloween decor this year...I am saving my energy for putting up Christmas this month!
