A few random things

Here are just a few random things that I have meant to blog about but haven't.

It's funny to me when I hear boys and girls play together. I'm reminded of how different they are. The other day I watched my friend's two little girls and here's a conversation C had with A (who is 4)

A- "let's pretend it's Christmas and I gave you cherries for Christmas" (the cherries are from our Hi Ho Cherry O game)

C- "OK, and I'll pretend they are eyeballs and I'll eat the eyeballs"

A- "No! I'll just give you cherries"

C- "And I'll eat them and they are like eyeballs"

A- "NO! They are JUST cherries"

C- "OK but let's pretend our parents are dead and we don't have any family and we are eating eyeballs"

A- "NO!"

They are so funny... or maybe he's just creepy!

Also I've been trying to catch him in the act for months now and I finally got a good shot:

We have a finger/thumb sucker. He hasn't decided on one or the other, it seems that each one alone is too small for him, so he tends to stick about 2-3 fingers in at a time. Yesterday he was sleeping and full on sucking his thumb it was adorable. The funny part is with any of the other children I would have pulled those fingers out of their mouths and shoved a pacifier in. In Chris' family there are a few "thumb/finger suckers" and they tend to have this habit for a LONG time. So my attempt to thwart this was to use the pacifier with the other kids, but L just isn't having it. O sucked her middle and ring fingers for a while but took to the pacifier just fine, this kid is just stubborn! I always figure I can toss the poppy (pacifier) away but I can't really toss out a finger or thumb. I guess I'll just enjoy the cuteness while it happens, and when he's 12 I'll try public humiliation to break him of the habit! I have to admit that I kinda think he's adorable when he does it (for now anyway).

One more random thing, my friend Kim took this picture for me on my birthday actually. We were eating lunch at the park and saw this guy mowing the grass. It's a huge drainage area that is usually filled with tall grass, water, and ducks. This day however it was dry enough for this guy to take on the task of mowing it. SOOO funny! And it's not even a ride on lawn mower.
