Santaian Slip

This was a huge OOPS on my part. The girls were playing Scatergories today and I was helping O who still needs help spelling and when you put a timer on her mind goes blank. The category was "Fictional Character" and the letter was S:

O: "Mom, what's a fictional character?"

Me: "A person or thing that is not real, like in a book, or a movie etc."

O: "What's one that starts with S?"

Me: "Oh, I know one, I proceed to whisper, Santa Clause"

O: "Thanks...wait a minute... Santa's not real?"

Me: (thinking in my mind, OH CRAP!) "No not Santa, silly me"

O: "OK Mom I was like Hello! Santa is REAL".

Me: WHEW!

*****SPOILER ALERT!!*****

You are much luckier than Mike. He has a similar slip with Grace a few years back and she was devastated. We still hear about it from time to time. Mike's included all of them, tooth fairy, easter bunny and Santa.

Funny...good cover. Since she WANTS to believe in Santa then she probably didn't doubt you at all.

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... 34 Reasons Why I Love You

Today is Chris Birthday! I'm awful about making plans and doing things for him so this year I have tried my best to be better. We are having a small party if you will , with some friends tonight and having his favorite apple cake with caramel topping. Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...
