I wanna be a Cowboy


C has been wanting a cowboy hat for a long time now.  He even got a free one from a neighbor's garage sale that was an old "Woody" hat from Toy Story, it was misshapen, and ratty but he wore that thing all the time.  So we decided that he could earn a hat by being dry at night.  He took that challenge and ran with it and in to time flat earned his hat.  Chris and I took him shopping on Monday and found a REAL Justin hat at the Tractor Supply Co.  He has hardly taken it off since.

I'll have to post a picture of Matthew and his hat. It's kind of a floppy fishing hat . . . I'm sure it has a name, but I don't have the brains to remember!! We also went through the cowboy phase too, but he didn't sleep in the hat.

Sometimes it strikes me funny that I live in a city that also has a store called Tractor Supply Store. I mean, I know I live in Illinois, and not far from growing crops, but still . . .

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... For the last 2 1/2 years Chris has struggled going to church.  The first year was due to the fact that he was in the hospital and fighting for his life and was unable to physically attend.  Frankly the whole family struggled that year and we stayed home for months because it was too painful to go.  The last year and a half Chris has struggled due to anxiety and panic about church.  He still has a testimony and loves the Gospel, he helps get the kids ready for church and attends when he can but for the most part I'm a single mom when it comes to church attendance.  He cann...

Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...
