Thing 5



Thing 5 is something that is a hot commodity  around here. Caramel Vanilla Swirl Marshmallows.  You can't find them in our town so we have them "imported" from the Quad Cities.  We affectionately call our friend John our "marshmallow mule".  Every time he goes to visit his friend in the Quad Cities he goes to the only grocery store that we know of that still sells these gems and buys the entire shelf full.  Yeah, he gets a few funny looks, and some questions, but all you have to do is eat a Rice Krispy Treat made from these and you'd hunt them down too!  I'll never go back to regular marshmallows, unless our supply runs out and I can't find these on the black market!



Winner of the giveaway will get one bag of marshmallows and my recipe for the treats.  Be careful because after you eat them you will look for them at every grocery trip and crave them like no tomorrow!

I was so excited with my trip this summer because i just knew i would find a stash of these marshmellows. i had a plan of presenting you with a huge box full for your birthday and just knew it would be your best present. i stopped at several stores all through iowa and never found anything... i am glad you have john - at least he can deliver the goods!!!

I have a friend who brings me caffeine-free Dr. Pepper. I also have several great friends that will bring me KRYSTALS!!!!

Haven't tried these . . . would be interesting.

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...

Our 68 Whiskey

All the fretting and studying and worrying and starving paid off!  K scored an excellent score on her ASVAB, better than most people!  She was able to pic the MOS (job) that she wanted and is happily enlisted in the US Army as a 68W (combat medic).  She has a ship out date of June 21 2017 but when she gets her diploma in her hot little hand in December she will renegotiate her contract and try and leave earlier.  This is a huge sigh of relief for her and a bit of a sigh of anxiety for her momma!  That's ok she is following her dream and doing what she will love.  I have faith that she will succeed!  Love that girl of mine.
