Running Question

Now I've been running for almost 4 months now and I'm beginning to wonder if I'm doing it right.  My friend posted on her blog the other day about her son running cross country, she had a great picture of him running his race, and commented, about how great his "form" was.  That got me thinking should I have form?  What is form?  Where do I get form?  I wonder if I had form would my hips not hurt as bad afterward?

That's another funny thing, you would think being that I am running my legs would kill me.  Well, my legs are usually fine as are my feet and knees, but my hips are hurting so bad it's almost impossible to walk the next day.  Is there something I can do, or should I just start saving for that Bionic Hip now?

You could go to Often Running and ask for advice. It could have something to do with your stride, shoes, warm-ups just about anything. I would consult a professional. Take it from me--don't ignore the pain. :)

Yes, I would second going to Often Running. It could very well have something to do with your shoes, but it may not too.

I had hip pain the first two months of walking/running, but it has completely resolved itself now.
Find an athletic store near you that has the equipment to analyze your stride and pronation etc. Then let them help you find the right shoe for you...trust me this makes a WORLD of difference. Then plan on having to replace your shoe about every 6 months depending on your milage (keep track of that).
Also go to runnersworld.com they have some great advice on there and some great stretches and strengthening exercises you could try. If none of that really helps try motrin and ice baths immediately post run.
