Tick Toc!
I have had to hold my kids through some pretty yucky medical tests in their lifetime. When K was little she had some swollen glands in her neck that really freaked us out for a while. They tested her for everything under the sun. They even went as far as to do a biopsy, which they did while I held her in my lap and kept her immobilized with my arms, talk about awful. Come to find out she had Cat Scratch Disease, I know leave it to K to have some obscure disease! She's also had a couple of CAT scans, tonsils and adenoids removed and 3 sleep studies (which Chris held her hand though!). She's had a concussion last month that was pretty scary, and don't forget the bout of Scarlet Fever she had when she was 7, YIKES!
O has had a bazillion bladder infections which prompted a scope up her Woo Hoo and x-rays, I held her hand though that whole ordeal. She has had probably the least amount of things wrong with her than any child so far.
C has had tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears. He has even had tubes removed which was more traumatic than the surgery. He also cut his nostril almost completely off when he was 3 and had to have stitches (which Chris held his hand through), and I was there to hold his hand when the stitches came out.
So far with L he's been pretty good. A couple of bouts of Bronchitis, and a call to poison control so far and he's only 22 months old. Today we were on our way to the Dr. with him because he's just been not feeling well this last week. As I was putting on his shirt I noticed something in his hair. Yep, it was a tick. Last night we were at a cook out and the kids played in the playground and there were lots of trees and bushes, and he picked up a hitchhiker! I left it alone and figured the Dr. could take care of it. I held him while she pulled that thing out and I almost puked! All those medical tests, needles, x-rays, catheters, blood, and I almost puke over a stinkin' tick! Wuss...
Oh, and he also has a sinus infection.
