Sleep---EVERYTHING!

K has always been a sleep walker and talker, since I can remember.  She wakes us up in the in middle of the night standing by our bed talking all kinds of jibberish!  Mostly it's pretty entertaining.  She gets it from her dad I think.  He's a BIG sleep talker.  Side note:  once when we were first married I woke up to him sitting on top of me shaking my shoulders and screaming, "Where is my wife!?"  It was very scary!  Anyhoo K has even injured herself pretty well too.  One night when she was 5ish we heard her walk down our hallway to our bedroom door, we waited for the knock but it never came.  She started running back to her room down our long hall and ran smack into her closet door, she had the hugest goose egg from that.  Once when she was 7 she went outside.  She unlocked a chain lock 2 dead bolts and 2 handle locks to get out, she was serious!  Luckily we lived in a creaky old house and I caught her before she got off the porch.  She turns lights on, goes around closing doors and windows, she's even gotten up and showered, and screams all kinds of things in her sleep.  This week she accelerated to hair cutting!  On Friday, I think it was, she cut a small piece off that wasn't noticeable.  Last night however she cut a HUGE chunk off.  We will have to take her today to get a professional haircut!

I'm a little freaked out by the whole thing.  What's next the butcher knives?  Cutting MY hair?

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... For the last 2 1/2 years Chris has struggled going to church.  The first year was due to the fact that he was in the hospital and fighting for his life and was unable to physically attend.  Frankly the whole family struggled that year and we stayed home for months because it was too painful to go.  The last year and a half Chris has struggled due to anxiety and panic about church.  He still has a testimony and loves the Gospel, he helps get the kids ready for church and attends when he can but for the most part I'm a single mom when it comes to church attendance.  He cann...

Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...

Our 68 Whiskey

All the fretting and studying and worrying and starving paid off!  K scored an excellent score on her ASVAB, better than most people!  She was able to pic the MOS (job) that she wanted and is happily enlisted in the US Army as a 68W (combat medic).  She has a ship out date of June 21 2017 but when she gets her diploma in her hot little hand in December she will renegotiate her contract and try and leave earlier.  This is a huge sigh of relief for her and a bit of a sigh of anxiety for her momma!  That's ok she is following her dream and doing what she will love.  I have faith that she will succeed!  Love that girl of mine.
