Mommy's Mumblings #7

  1. August 18th cannot get here fast enough, and no it's not even the baby's due date!  It's the first day of school.
  2. I think my children are deaf to the sound of my voice, unless I am screaming at them.  That's the only time when they really listen.  Wouldn't it be easier if they listened when I am asking nicely?
  3. I think that gas should only be $1 per gallon.  Then we could get the heck out of here every once in a while.
  4. I am not paying for any therapy that my kids might have to have when they grow up due to my "parenting".  they are going to have to pay for mine!
  5. Everyone says, "Enjoy this time, you'll miss it when it's gone"...really I'll miss the fighting and the stress, and the frustration, and the name calling, and yelling, and hitting, and fighting, and stress, and broken furniture due to tantrums....UMMMM NO!!!
  6. I will miss the rare moments of kindness, the holidays, the cute sayings and deeds, and the kisses good night...but not that other crap.
  7. I need a vacation.  Recently a friend of mine blogged about a Baby Moon and while I think she was opposed to the idea, I thought it was BRILLIANT!  I need a Baby Moon...2-3 days with just Chris and I on some tropical  Midwest beach Lake, would be HEAVEN!  Can I get an AMEN???!!!  The sad part is that we'd probably spend the entire time sleeping because we are so frikin' exhausted from life. 
  8. Sometimes you just gotta give into the 3rd parent...the TV/Computer/Video Game System/Other electronic device, to have any peace in the house.

I have missed your blog. I need to go blog stalking more often. I have been too busy chasing after three deaf kids. I don't know how you are doing it! CRAZY!! :)

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... For the last 2 1/2 years Chris has struggled going to church.  The first year was due to the fact that he was in the hospital and fighting for his life and was unable to physically attend.  Frankly the whole family struggled that year and we stayed home for months because it was too painful to go.  The last year and a half Chris has struggled due to anxiety and panic about church.  He still has a testimony and loves the Gospel, he helps get the kids ready for church and attends when he can but for the most part I'm a single mom when it comes to church attendance.  He cann...

34 Reasons Why I Love You

Today is Chris Birthday! I'm awful about making plans and doing things for him so this year I have tried my best to be better. We are having a small party if you will , with some friends tonight and having his favorite apple cake with caramel topping. I also wanted to give him a little extra and thought I needed to publicly share some of the reasons why I love him. Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...
