My To-Do List

My To-Do list just got a little longer and put on a bit more of a time constraint.  We found out last week that Chris' sister and her hubby and cute daughter will be moving very close to us!  Jonathan got a job in Peoria which is about 45 minutes from our house!!  We are very excited to have family close, after living away from family for the last 5 years it will be nice to have them around.  They are going to be staying with us until they find a place of their own which I am really excited about for 2 reasons.  First reason is we have never met their daughter E and I am excited to get to know her and for the kids to hang out.  The second reason is a little more selfish.  I do have a baby due in a couple weeks and it will be nice to have them close so if we need help with our other kids we can call and hopefully they won't be too overwhelmed with our gang that they will be willing to help!

So my to-do list looks like this:


  1. Clean sewing stuff out of guest room (I'm sure E will be as interested in my stuff as L is!)
  2. Catch up on laundry, we will be adding 3 extra peeps to the laundry pile so having ours caught up is a MUST!
  3. scrub bathrooms completely
  4. glue kitchen chairs back together
  5. move L's new dresser into her room
  6. organize pantry
  7. organize linen closet (AGAIN)
  8. sell buffet
  9. buy nursing bra
  10. get new PJ's for hospital
  11. Finish all the sewing projects I have put off for our baby:


  • make nursing pads
  • make diaper bag
  • need more burp cloths
  • make a diaper bag for an order I received
  • finish a baby gift I started in December for my friend (her baby is 7 months old...shame on me!)
So far that is all.  I hope that I can keep my feet unswollen for all these projects!  I have an ultrasound tomorrow to see how big this big boy is! 

Can't wait for Robyn and Jonathan and E to come on Saturday!!

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... For the last 2 1/2 years Chris has struggled going to church.  The first year was due to the fact that he was in the hospital and fighting for his life and was unable to physically attend.  Frankly the whole family struggled that year and we stayed home for months because it was too painful to go.  The last year and a half Chris has struggled due to anxiety and panic about church.  He still has a testimony and loves the Gospel, he helps get the kids ready for church and attends when he can but for the most part I'm a single mom when it comes to church attendance.  He cann...

Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...
