Dorothy Type Apron Tutorial
If you are my regular reader please ignore this post. I am making a tutorial for an apron we are making for our Activity Day Girl's Camp. This was the easiest place I could think of to link to!
First start off with a 1/2 yard of fabric
Cut that fabric in half at the fold so you have two pieces of fabric that are 18" x 21ish"
Take one of those halves and fold it in half again and cut it on the fold so you will have two pieces that are 18" x 11 1/2ish". One piece is extra and won't be used. The other piece fold in half right sides together and sew on two sides leaving one of the short sides open.
Flip it right side out and iron flat. Top stitch around the edges except for the open edge.

Take the other large piece of fabric (18x21) and hem the two short sides and one long side. Just a small hem about 1/4 inch.
The other long side gather stitch it. Once it is gathered fit it into the open end of the chest piece of the apron. The open side of the chest piece should be flipped inside of itself to make a nice finished edge.
Cut a piece of ribbon 50" long and sew it across the front of the apron joining the chest piece and the skirt.
Cut two more pieces of ribbon 20" each and attach at the top sides of the chest piece to tie around the neck.
Add buttons on the top edge of the chest piece over the ribbon.
Then you are done!
