Lucy you got some splainin' to do...

Actually in all actuality I do not have any explaining to do.  It is what it is for all those reading my blog.  However I would like to get this all blogged for posterity so there are no questions.  Because family history in the future will be like "On Grandma's Blog..."

Last post may have mentioned the fact that K will be joining the army after High School.  Well folks it's happening sooner than that even though she will not actually be "shipping out" until her graduation is complete.  Today and tomorrow she is taking her ASVAB test and having all her medical taken care of. She will be picking an MOS (job) and taking her Army Oath.  I dropped her off at the recruiters office this morning, she is driving down to St. Louis today and taking her test.  Then they will give her a hotel room and food vouchers and she will return in the morning to have her physical.  Hopefully by tonight she will have picked her job and sleep a little better than she has been.  This girl has not hardly slept or ate in weeks!

So let me clarify.  I have a daughter that is 17 years old and joining the army.  She will be attending Basic Training before her 18th birthday (aprox 3 months before).  Yes, Chris and I had to sign a paper allowing her to move forward with this decision.  NO, I am not "foolishly signing her away" contrary to the belief of some.  This is not a quick/last minute/rushed/stupid decision.  She has prayed and planned and worked very hard for this, and I support her 100%.

She just might change the world...

Today we went to our new ward.  We still have one more week in our current ward but we just wanted to check it out, get our faces known, and possibly drum up some help to unload a moving truck in a couple weeks. Can I just say it was amazing!  We've been to this ward before when Chris was on the High Council so there were a few familiar faces.  That wasn't the amazing part... Today is Chris Birthday! I'm awful about making plans and doing things for him so this year I have tried my best to be better. We are having a small party if you will , with some friends tonight and having his favorite apple cake with caramel topping. Sometimes life changes and we are all trying to catch up

From day one I could tell there was something different about L...he is my 4th child and right from the start I could tell.  I didn't know I could tell.  I knew he was different from my other kids but I didn't have a clue as to why, or what our future would bring. L was my most sweet baby.  All babies are sweet you say, all babies are different.  I know all babies are sweet but I mean this baby was SWEET.  He slept through the night almost from day one, to a mom 6 hours is like an eternity so I'm calling it through the night.  He rarely cried.  When he did and all the normal boxes were checked, feeding, changing, hot/cold, he just wanted to be left alone.  He would lay for hours on the floor on a blanket and watch life happen.  Then he would just fall asleep and take a nap and it was wonderful.  Being a mom of many kiddos it was like this baby was sent to me on purpose to make it easy.  Usually I have a baby and think "I'm not eve...
