A Mileston...a Huge one!

I posted a few posts back about K joining the Army.  Well last week on Thursday she officially graduated from High School.  She graduated a semester early and is working hard on getting in to basic training in the winter instead of the summer.  She was all set to graduate but the only thing holding her back was her math grade.  She needed a D to pass and graduate and had a stinking 58%.  Her teacher was giving her such grief you would have thought she was trying to become president or something.  Finally Thursday after several emails back and forth to her guidance counselor she left me a voice mail letting me know Kelsey had passed and was graduated.  I knew Kelsey was anxious about the whole thing so I texted her right away and told her the news.  It was so cute because she was in the middle of a different final and was done with the test but couldn't talk because others were still testing.  She said she wanted to scream but couldn't.  She feels so free not having to go to school for a bit and having a break.  It was a good day.  A good day for her and a good day for Chris and I .  We have raised a whole adult and she is pretty great!  We cannot wait to see what the next stage of life brings her but we are sure she will do great things.

Christmas was last Sunday.  It was an interesting Christmas filled with laughter and love and unity and then we went over to see family...HAHAHA!  That's all I have to say about the day...I'll just leave it at that.

I sooooo envy my friends who are so excited to see family and who are so excited for family to move close or to move closer to their family and I'm over here like "GO AWAY FAMILY!" (not my side).  It's so sad and frustrating.  I want to be close and for all of us to have the perks of family living close but alas that may never be.  This is more than I've ever written about this on our blog and I'm not saying anything else.  It's just a part of our life that needs a bit of sharing for the future.
